Settings and white-label

Where to find workspace, environment, business hours, notification, API key and white-label settings, and which plan or permission each one needs.

Last updated: 2026-09-29

Everything that configures your workspace lives under Settings in the sidebar. This page shows where each setting is, who can change it, and what plan it needs.

Where things are#

The Settings menu is organised in groups.

GroupItems
Top levelWorkspace setup, Environment
PeopleTeam, Team settings
Inbox settingsContact fields, Lifecycle, Conversations, Business hours, Shortcuts, Forms, Tags, AI assist, AI prompts
Channels & appsIntegrations, WhatsApp, calls, email, SMS, Webhooks, API keys, Widget, White label
Data & planFiles, Data exchange, Plan & usage, Support

Most pages open for any member but are read-only without the settings:manage permission, which owners, admins and managers have. See Team, roles and permissions.

Workspace setup#

Settings, then Workspace setup (titled "Setup and customization") holds:

  • Workspace identity: general information, timezone, default language and display density.
  • User inactivity timeout: days before an inactive member is signed out automatically.
  • Quiet hours: a window that suppresses non-critical notifications.
  • Brand palette: colours applied to pages your customers see, such as the published catalog, form links, the help centre and the chat widget. Choosing a palette is available on every plan.
  • Weekly summary email: a conversation and lifecycle summary sent every Monday to the recipients you add. Add at least one supervisor to enable it.
  • Teams: named groups of members, each with a colour, capacity and work routing.
  • Contact fields and Layouts: your own customer fields and published record layouts.
  • Business structure: the one-way switch to multiple branches.

Environment#

Settings, then Environment sets your business type: General Business, Restaurant, Store, Appointments & Services, WhatsApp Marketing or Be Me. Choosing one adds tools and playbooks suited to that business. Changing it later adds new tools and does not remove your existing setup. Restaurant and Store environments also add items such as Orders and Menu to the sidebar.

The page also holds a Conversational Payments switch that controls whether the AI can create payment links in chat. See Orders and payment links.

Business hours#

Settings, then Inbox settings, then Business hours sets your weekly schedule in a timezone. Every time is read in that timezone, wherever the customer is. You can turn on an Away message, in English and Arabic, limit it to chosen channels, and set how long before it is sent again. There is also an option to have the AI stay quiet outside hours, so the customer receives only the away message until you reopen.

Notifications#

Each person controls their own notifications under their profile settings: in-app and email notifications, assignments, escalations, notification sound and quiet hours. Routing rules and SLA timers are covered in Notifications, SLA and escalations.

Plan and usage#

Settings, then Data & plan, then Plan & usage is where admins buy and change the plan. See Plans and billing.

API keys and webhooks#

Settings, then Channels & apps, then API keys creates keys for the REST API.

ItemRequirement
PlanScale or Enterprise. Operations and the AI add-on do not include API access.
Permissionsettings:manage, and creating a key needs an admin
Key formatStarts with sk_live_
OptionsA name, permissions, an optional requests-per-minute limit, an optional expiry date

Key permissions are conversations:read, messages:read, orders:read and orders:write. See REST API. Webhooks in the same group also needs Scale or Enterprise. See Webhooks.

If the menu shows a key or webhook page as locked for an older Growth workspace but your plan is below Scale, the server rules apply: Scale or Enterprise.

White-label#

Settings, then Channels & apps, then White label ("White-Label Branding") lets you rebrand what customers see. Full white-label is an Enterprise feature, sold through sales.

SettingEffect

Custom domainServe your knowledge-base portal on your own domain. Point a CNAME record to usesela.com.

Picking a theme palette is allowed on every plan. Every other branding field needs Enterprise.

Audit trail#

Sela records sensitive actions, such as role changes, holds and offboarding, with who did them, when and why. There is currently no general audit-log page for a single-location workspace. Business accounts have an Audit page listing account actions and whether each succeeded, was denied or failed. See Multiple branches. The Scale plan includes advanced governance features.
